Join in as we learn techniques for taking pictures with digital cameras. Students will begin by learning basic camera controls – exposure, shutter speed, aperture, design and composition techniques. We will look at work by historical and contemporary photographers and take our cameras on walking field trips. This course will also cover conceptual and creative solutions to weekly topics, including portraiture, landscape, digital manipulation, and interpretive and documentary assignments. There will be a print demonstration at the end of the course and students will have the opportunity to print their own images.
Course Requirements: Students must own a digital camera (DSLR or Digital Point and Shoot)
